Dr. Laura Wingers: Understanding Anxiety, ADHD & the Gifted Child

Anxiety, ADHD & The Gifted CHILD with Dr. Laura Wingers

Do you know a gifted learner with anxiety, inattention, distractibility, impulsivity and/or executive function challenges?

When we encounter the emotional and behavioral intensity that many gifted children experience, we can empower them, and ourselves, with greater knowledge of the incredible mind-body connection. The emerging research in pediatric integrative medicine provides a wealth of information about the impact of stress, inflammation and lifestyle factors.

Take a personal health inventory, learn when, why and how to introduce mind-body approaches to children, and explore intentional practices to improve well-being and support healthy functioning at school and at home.

Join us as we welcome back Dr. Laura Wingers to speak about Anxiety and Gifted Children. Areas she will discuss:

*Do You Know a Gifted Learner with Anxiety, Inattention, Distractability, Impulsivity and/or Executive Function Challenges?

The Well-Being Project at CENTER grew out of my desire to share information and resources much more widely and at a low cost – to make mental health and well-being a continuous part of the conversation in our communities. These parent workshops will be offered monthly. Tickets are $25 and include access to the live and/or recorded event and a slew of resources that are sent out as a follow up.

While I and the team at CENTER continue to see individuals and families and provide all our specialized services, this is a mission that is close to my heart! I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions! Robin (our administrative and wellness coordinator) can assist families with registration or answer their questions.

“Why do I feel sluggish, unmotivated, down on myself? I want to feel better!” The next workshop in the Well-Being Project at CENTER will:

• EXPLAIN inflammation – the causes and mitigating factors
• DESCRIBE the gut/brain connection to depression, anxiety and neurodevelopmental disorders
• PROVIDE A PLAN to get the benefits of anti-inflammatory eating habits
• GIVE EXAMPLES and RESOURCES for breathwork and mindful practices for adults and kids
• SHARE SIMPLE STRATEGIES for better managing stressors to support brain and body function and reduce inflammation
